TODAY’S Oplan Tokhang scheduled by the Cebu provincial police on 15 houses in Cordova town will be witnessed by Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.
The half-day activity will also be joined by Senior Supt. Eric Noble, Cebu provincial police chief, and Cordova Mayor Teche Sitoy-Cho.
Davide said he was told by Noble that they will visit at least 15 identified houses, though he was unsure whether the occupants are all suspected of illegal drug involvement or there will be those involved in cyberpornography.
Cordova had been identified as one of the hotspots for cyberpornography.
Davide said the houses were identified by the Cebu provincial police and they will be given a briefing prior to the activity.
“I feel that it is also our duty to help. From the start, we already expressed our support for the President’s war on drugs. Also, I want to experience firsthand how it feels to be convincing people to stop using drugs,” the governor said.
But Davide reiterated his stand against extrajudicial killings, saying that he is against it.
“But let me be very, very clear. I think you already know my position on extrajudicial killings. I am against it,” he told reporters.
