Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña reminded Cebuanos about the sacrifices of fellow Cebuanos to achieve the kind of freedom we enjoy today.
In his speech at the commemoration of the 75th Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) held at the Plaza Independencia on Saturday morning, Osmeña enjoined everyone to remember the sacrifices made by brave people for freedom.
Osmeña said that there are many Cebuanos who show courage and sacrificed a lot in today’s generation for the freedom that we have now.
“This is really a good occasion for us to remind ourselves that we owe it to them,” he said.
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña led the event together with other department heads in City Hall.
As part of giving tribute to the veterans in Central Visayas, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Central Command opened an exhibit in the plaza where they displayed an army bunk and some weapons for the public to enjoy.
