CEBU residents may get some respite from the summer heat on Maundy Thursday due to the arrival of a low pressure area in the country sometime this Holy Week.
Romeo Aguirre, weather specialist of the Mactan office of the state weather bureau Pagasa, said their instruments showed a cluster of clouds that may develop into an LPA.
“If this would enter the country, then there are two scenarios that may happen,” Aguirre said. He said the first scenario is that the clouds may pass Samar Island and move straight to Southern Luzon.
“It can bring light to moderate rains in Metro Cebu over the weekend,” Aguirre said. So far, Aguirre said there is a 50 percent chance that the clouds may usher in a tropical cyclone.
If it happens, the cyclone will be named “Crising.”
Still, Aguirre said the weather for the next three days will be sunny with temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
