THE COUNTRY’S premier loveteam, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla known as KathNiel to their fans, returns to the big screen with a new romantic comedy entitled, “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the film will feature some of Cebu’s most beautiful destinations.

“Ipapakita (sa film) kung gaano ka special ang Cebu. Nung nalaman namin na mag shoot kami dito, natuwa kami kasi marami pa kaming gustong puntahan dito na place. Dun namin na realize na madaming magagandang beaches and places dito,” Kathryn told the Cebu press, a few hours before their mall shows at SM City Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu last Monday.

Kathryn and Daniel were in Cebu for a week in January this year to shoot some important scenes for their movie. They explored the white sand beaches of Moalboal, Bukilat Cave and Boho Rock Resort of Camotes Island, Osmeña Peak in Dalaguete, as well as the towns of Boljoon, Argao and Oslob.

Daniel said Cebu is one of his favorite places because of the breathtaking beaches and the warm reception of people.

Asked which of the places they visited is their favorite, both said that it is Boljoon town.

“May scene po kaming nakunan dun. Nung nakita namin, sabi talaga namin na ang ganda-ganda ng place. May church and it’s well preserved, at sa paglabas mo, nandyan na ‘yung feel na hinahanap mo—may mountain at may dagat kaya ang romantic ng ambience,” Kathryn added.

In the movie, Kathryn plays the role of Gab, an organized woman who is engaged with her long-time boyfriend but her life turns upside down when she discovers that she is already married to Dos (Daniel), the happy-go-lucky trip leader.

Their adventure begins as they plan out for their annulment.

As they mark their six years as a love team with “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” they promise more mature roles than their previous films.

“Dito sa movie, we tackle marriage. As for my character Gab, minsan mas okey kung mag loosen up ka, di lahat kontrolado mo. Hindi natin hawak ang pangyayari, at in terms sa love, hindi siya nasusukat kung gaano kahaba magkasama, kahit sa maiksing panahon, if you felt it, ‘yun na ‘yun,” said Kathryn.

It’s going to be KathNiel’s first movie project this year after last year’s hit “Barcelona: A Love Untold” before returning to the Kapamilya primetime nights for “La Luna Sang’gre,” the third installment of ABS-CBN’s hit fantaseryes “Lobo” (2008) and “Imortal” (2011).

The film also features Matteo Guidicelli, Cherry Pie Picache, Lito Pimentel, Lotlot De Leon, Dennis Padilla, Jorross Gamboa, Janus Del Prado, Kristel Fulgar, Pinky Amador, Johnny Revilla, Hannah Ledesma, Devon Seron, Chienna Filomeno, Earl Ignacio, Nina Dolino, Belle Mariano, and Clarence Delgado.

The film will hit cinemas starting April 15.
