ELIZABETH Abarquez pocketed three titles in the 19th HEAD Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit yesterday at the Citigreen Tennis Resort in Brgy. Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
The 15-year-old Abarquez, who is coming off a remarkable victory in the 22nd JRG Gullas Cup earlier this month in Naga where she snagged three titles, continued her unparalleled dominance in the court when she dominated Lyrah Mae Repollo, 6-2, 6-0, for the 16-under girls crown before stopping Shyne Villareal, 6-2, 6-1, for the 18-under girls diadem.
Abarquez finished off her astounding run when she teamed up with Villareal to defeat the pair of Hannah Tapic and Bless Coderos, 8-1, for the 18-under doubles crown.
Right after the tournament, the Carcar Cebu-native Abarquez said that she will be continuing her training in hopes of giving the region a gold medal as she competes in the 2017 Palarong Pambansa on April 23 in Antique Province.
Meanwhile, Lapu Lapu City’s Tiffany Claire Nocos took home the 12-under girls title via a 6-4, 6-2 decision against Julianna Maravillas while AJ Mckenzie handed Repollo her second finals loss in the tournament when she defeated the latter 6-2, 6-2 for the 14-under girls trophy.
Venz Anton Louise Alforque snagged the 16-under boys title following a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Fernando Cesar Po.
