Repollo looks to arrest slump

LYRAH Mae Repollo has been struggling as of late in singles competitions, but she’ll have a chance to change all that when the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala (PPS-PEPP) regional tennis tournament gets underway today at the Consolacion Tennis Club, in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Repollo competed in the recent 22nd JRG Gullas Cup and 19th Head Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit but she failed to bring home a singles title.

If it’s any consolation, Repollo snagged a doubles event crown in the 14-under girls doubles title in the Head Junior where she teamed up with Shedel Gica.

In the PPS-PEPP tournament, Repollo will be competing in the girls’ 14-under, 16-under and 18-under singles events.

“I will do my best to win a title. My opponents are very strong in this tournament but I will do my very best to win,” Repollo said.

Other Cebuanos set to see action are Lapu Lapu City’s Chad Connor Cuizon, who is gunning for a twinkill in the 10-unisex and 12-under boys categories, and Kristin Salimbangon, who will banner the elite class in the 18-under girls division.
