Badian councilman nabbed for drugs

A barangay councilman in Badian town, southwestern Cebu was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation on Tuesday evening.

Six packs believed to contain shabu were seized from Bernardino Seguisabal, 40, a councilman in barangay Bato, police said.

In an interview with Cebu Daily News, Senior Insp. Bonifacio Pareja Jr., chief of the Badian Police Station, said the arrest was made near the Kawasan Falls in barangay Matutinao.

Police had been monitoring Seguisabal since December last year, said Pareja.

“Daghan na kaayo ko nadawat reports about niya. Public knowledge g’yud sa ilahang barangay nga drug pusher siya,” Pareja said.

The seized suspected shabu had a street value of P6,000, said police

Seguisabal was allegedly capable of disposing of five to 10 grams of shabu every week.

“He (Seguisabal) got his supply (of illegal drugs) in Cebu City,” Pareja said.

Seguisabal was detained at the Badian Police Station pending the filing of charges against him.
