DIMSUM Frito snatched the inaugural crown of the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Alumni Basketball League after it topped Family Appliance, 79-65, in their championship match last Tuesday night at the CEC Gym.
The inside-outside tandem of Earn Saguindel and Mark Bukiron catapulted Dimsum Frito to the championship crown that went with the P12,000 top purse.
The former University of the East Red Warrior Saguindel fired a team-high 19 points, while the hulking Bukiron mounted 18 points. Albert Uy gave Family Appliance more headache after he pitched in 16 markers.
JC Espada scored a game-high 21 points to lead the way for Family Appliance, which took home P8,000.
Wellington Yu backed Espada with 13 markers.
Bonchon, on the other hand, bagged the third place trophy with a 97-92 win over Mang Ondo.
Settling for P5,000, Bonchon drew big numbers from Christian Espada, Kevin Mamac and Rodney Co, who combined for 82 points.
Espada piled up 32 points, Mamac fired 28, while Co pumped in 22.
Joseph Aljune Areja also scored in double figures with 13.
Rex Millan topped Mang Ondo with 25 points while John Yu and Michael Tan chipped in 17 markers apiece.
