Former Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama is leaving everything to God if the election recount results will show that he really lost.
In the event the recount result would reveal Rama really lost even in the precincts of all his allies, “maybe it was his master and grand plan,” Rama said in a phone interview.
Rama, who ran against Mayor Tomas Osmena during last year’s elections and lost, later filed an election protest and sought for a recount on 168 precincts.
Earlier, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has ordered the transport of the ballot boxes coming from the 168 protested precincts subject for a recount.
The precincts include Barangays Ermita, Camputhaw, Mabolo, Sambag I, T. Padilla, Basak Pardo, Basak San Nicolas, Bulacao, Guadalupe, Inayawan, Calamba, Poblacion Pardo and Punta Princesa.
Rama said the recount would not only enlighten him but would also bring revelations to other cases similar to his case.
“It will bring in beautiful revelations. And I don’t want to add up. He (Osmeña) is already facing a lot of cases,” he said.
Osmeña, for his part, said he welcomed the protest and that he would prove that Rama lost the election in the precincts of the councilors allied with Team Rama.
