CASH REWARD
Who will receive the P1 million reward promised by President Rodrigo Duterte for the capture of the Abu Sayyaf bandits?
Some asked if it will be given to the “habal-habal” (motorcycle-for-hire) driver who give the tip about the presence of the bandits that holed up in a cave in Clarin town in Bohol province.
Still others suggested that the soldiers who faced the bandits should also be rewarded since they’ve risked their lives to go after them even if it’s part of their job description.
IMPROVE HIS LOT
A broadcaster said the government should have immediately given the cash reward to the habal-habal driver who gave the information on the Abu Sayyaf bandits.
“Aron moasenso baya siya. Di na siya magmotor, magpalit na siya og taxi or salakyan ug mag-Grab Taxi na siya or Uber (So he can improve his lot in life. He won’t use the motorcycle, he will buy a taxi or car and apply as a Grab taxi or Uber driver),” the broadcaster said.
‘ARE YOU A FILIPINO?’
President Duterte’s annoyance with the media has now bordered on outright contempt based on his responses to questions of some reporters.
A post shared by one of several Facebook pages administered by one of his loyalists showed a video clip in which the President asked point blank a reporter what she thinks about the media outlets which were criticizing his administration.
“Are you with them? Are you a Filipino?” the President asked the reporter.
When the reporter refused to answer, the President shot back, “Then you are not a Filipino”, and dismissed her with a glare.
