Cop’s live in partner nabbed in anti-illegal gambling raid in Borbon town

The 28-year-old live in partner of a police officer was arrested in a joint police anti-illegal gambling operation in Borbon town in northern Cebu last Saturday.

Jenny Suson was caught tallying swertres numbers, an illegal numbers game based on the PCSO’s Swertres games, when operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch of the Cebu Provincial Police Office and the Borbon Police Station raided a house in Barangay Candarohan at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Insp. William Homoc, Borbon police chief, said Suson is the live in partner of PO1 Dominador Banzon, who is assigned at the Borbon Police Station.

Homoc said that Suson was also allegedly considered an illegal gambling coordinator in Danao City.

Confiscated from Suson were illegal gambling paraphernalia and cash, which are believed to be proceeds of her illegal trade.

Homoc said that he already knew of the illegal activities of Banzon’s partner because she and even Banzon were advised to stop her illegal activities by the former Borbon Police Chief and even the town mayor.

CDN called the Borbon Police Station to get the side of Banzon, but he was not around when CDN made the call.

Homoc said that despite the warnings, Suson allegedly continued with her illegal trade.

Homoc said that he silently worked with the PIB Chief Joie Yape Jr. and PIB Deputy Chief Nazareno Emya, who led the joint anti-illegal gambling operation, because Banzon was the desk officer at the time of the raid.

Superintendent Yape said that Senior Inspector Emya would handle the investigation of Banzon if he had any part in his partner’s illegal trade.

Yape said that Emya would be the one to recommend whether to file a complaint against Banzon or to recommend his relief or to report to provincial police headquarters.

Yape said they would file illegal gambling charges against Suson who was detained at the Consolacion Police Station detention cell, where the PIB usually detained suspects because the office had no detention cell.
