DAVAO City’s Vingie Coloma dominated the 150 open underbone category in the second leg of the Yamaha Grand Prix (YGP) 8 at the SM City Cebu car park last Sunday.
Coloma, one of the ace riders of Yamaha Philippines, out performed Cebu’s Gary Caneda who settled for second place. Anacleto Flores ranked third.
Coloma’s win earned him a spot in the YGP Grand Finals scheduled later this year.
Coloma’s bid for a double championship was foiled after he settled for second place in the Sniper 150cc MXI One Make Race, which was won by Ephraim Onahon.
Onahon also couldn’t win a second crown after he settled for third in the 130 open underbone category. JR Caneda won did contest while Flores settled for second.
Clint Jay Sande went home with the 115 Vega Force title, beating Fritzgerald Sangual and John Paul Lapente, who wound up third and second, respectively.
Neil Perino dominated the 160 Open Automatic division, edging Zac Lyndon Caneda and Jeno Malasa, who settled for second and third, respectively.
In the Fun Race Automatic-Beginner, Sylvester Ramirez captured the top spot while Gilmark Coloma placed second followed by Rene Alfarero.
Underbone Beginners and Y-Club National Fun Race winners were Gilmark Coloma and Edcel Tampos, respectively.
Around a hundred riders took part in the event which was highlighted by Yamaha Motors Philippines’ unveiling of the all new Mio 155CC Aerox scooter.
