Police arrest brothers, seize P1 million worth of drugs in Minglanilla buy-bust

 

At least P1 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated from “big time” drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tulay, Minglanilla town, south Cebu on Thursday night.

Police arrested brothers Francisco Nabua, 42, and Ozner Nabua, 27, both residents of A. Lopez Street, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, in a buy-bust operation done in Phase 2 Springwoods Subdivision in Barangay Tulay, Minglanilla at 10 p.m.

Francisco sold one medium pack of drugs to a police poseur buyer and was immediately arrested together with Ozner.

Supt. Dexter Calacar, chief of Minglanilla Police said the brothers, who are considered high value targets, have been under surveillance for one month.

Police confiscated five medium packs and a large pack of suspected shabu from Francisco and one small pack of suspected shabu from Ozner with a total weight of 75 grams estimated to worth more or less a million pesos.

Also recovered from the suspects were P7,000 marked money and P25,000 cash believed to be proceeds from their illegal drugs trade.

Both suspects are now in the custody of Minglanilla police station but will soon be turned over to Cebu Provincial Detention Rehabilation Center (CPDRC). /CNU Intern Geralyn Alba
