Kenyans rule Times Square Run

Kenyan runners asserted their dominance in the Times Square Family Run at the Talamban Times Square in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City last Saturday morning.

Eric Chepseror, Joseph Mururi and James Mibei swept the top three spots in the men’s 10-kilometer race.

Chepseror took the number one spot after reaching the finish line in 31 minutes and 33 seconds. Mururi came in second at 33:44 followed by Mibei at 36:11.

Meanwhile, Ruffa Sorongon pocketed her third title for the year after she ruled the women’s 10k race by clocking in 44:04.

Michelle Beboso trailed Sorongon with a time of 48:06. Christy Tutor wound up third at 51:10.

In the 5k race, Cherry Andrin and Joseph Arnel Emia emerged as the top runners by crossing the finish line at 21:07 and 16:40, respectively.

Trailing Andrin was Charisse Incarnacion at 21:40 and Mary Joy Castor at 23:32.

Harold Kim Guiao trailed Emia at 17:14, while Kenyan Douglas Mwiti ranked third at 17:45.

USC-BED’s ace runner Mary Joy Loberanes dominated the 3k open at 11:27, beating Giselle Ochia and Angeline Potot, who timed 12:45 and 14:18, respectively.
Rolly Joy Cotmaya bagged the 3k male open title at 10:54. He was followed by Ken Harold Sadile at 11:37 and Kurt Nans at 11:50.
