ONE died while another got wounded in a shooting incident inside a covered court in Sitio Abellana, Barangay Luz, Cebu City on Tuesday evening.
Pedrito Cabornay, 60, a former police officer, was hit in his chin with the bullet exiting the back portion of his head after being shot by an unidentified suspect at around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Another victim, Jayro Alegado, 26, sustained a gunshot on the right side of his head and was brought to Perpetual Souccor Hospital by responding policemen. Alegado was believed to have been hit by a stray bullet.
Jeremy Oco, a vendor in the area, said she was cooking when she heard a burst of gunfire, prompting her to check and see the suspect hurriedly leaving.
Cebu City Police Office Public Information officer Chief Insp. Ramoncelio Sawan said the case has an eye witness and the investigation is still ongoing to establish the identity of the gunman and the motive of the killing.
