GLOBAL Cebu FC clinched solo second place in the standings of the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL) after manhandling Kaya FC Makati, 3–1, Wednesday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Metro Manila.
Global Cebu FC and Kaya FC Makati were tied at second place in the standings before the former’s dominating win.
Global Cebu improved to two victories and one draw while Kaya FC Makati has 1-1-1 (win-loss-draw) card. FC Meralco Manila is still unbeaten in three games.
Dennis Villanueva initiated the scoring spree for Global Cebu at the fourth minute followed by Seykou Sylla’s 18th minute goal.
In the second half, Robert Mendy scored for Kaya FC Makati in the 55th minute.
But Global Cebu put the game away as Sylla managed to score in the 90th minute.
