AFTER conquering the freezing waters of the Hudson River in New York, “Pinoy Aquaman” Ingemar Macarine will try to log his 28th open water swim by crossing Camiguin Island to Balingaoan, Misamis Oriental today.
The swim covers a total of 11 kilometers which the environmentalist and lawyer hopes will promote peace in Mindanao in light of the ongoing crisis in Marawi City.
The swim is sponsored by Dagohoy Masonic Lodge No.84 of Lord Marapao. This will be Macarine’s second try to conquer this sea after he failed in his first attempt last January due to bad weather.
The 39-year old Macarine recently swam 8.4k along with Hudson River in New York, USA and before that, he logged his longest swim, a 23k effort from Dumaguete City to Siquijor Island which lasted 11 hours and 21 minutes.
