REIGNING All Women’s Ultramarathon (AWUM) champion Lizane Abella logged her fourth win in a local foot race this year by dominating the 12-kilometer distance of the 3rd A-Plus All Weather Paints Color Run yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu.
Abella, from Minglanilla town, south Cebu, finished the race in 49 minutes and 39 seconds, beating rival Ruffa Sorongon, who placed second with a time of 49:46. Jenezel Saballa grabbed third place honors, finishing in 55:22.
In the 12k men’s division, Kenyan Eric Chipsiror and Joseph Murui put up a 1-2 finish, with the former crossing the finish line in 38:10 and the latter clocking 41:17. Ian Refuela rounded off the top three in the division with a time of 43:52.
Cherry Andrin and Rafael Pescos, meanwhile, ruled the 6k race.
Andrin finished in 26:06 while Pescos clocked 21:51.
Winners in the 3k race were Mary Joy Loberanis (12:51) and Ronilo Gabila (11:01).
“It was a successful race, everyone had fun because of our colored powder concept and we are thankful to the participants for taking part of this running event and we were able to raise funds for the Asilo dela Milagrosa orphanage,” said FH Colors and Coatings Corporation Visayas and Mindanao operations manager Pepito Lim . /
