GIVE IT A REST ALREADY

Yesterday, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go released two photos of President Duterte to suppress wild talk that the Chief Executive has a serious medical condition.

However, netizens were wondering as to the whereabouts of the President, fearing that no one is overseeing security measures in the country.

Consing Ybanez wrote, “Our country is facing a serious problem in Marawi, ang pag ka wagtang sa presidente kai kabalakhan jud. No one will command and oversee all operations.”

Another netizen, Jeff Pontillas, was quick to reply: “Yes, a lot of people died in marawi, the people needs the president’s presence above all.”

However, Nedz Zech wrote that the President also needs to rest despite his hectic schedule.

“The president is also human, he needs sleep and rest despite his schedule. Their is no reason to stress when he likes to take a rest,” said Zech.

Duterte, who had not been seen in public since Monday and had missed a scheduled appearance at the annual Independence Day celebrations at Rizal Park, sparked speculations on his health.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said in a Palace briefing that the President was “just tired.”
