CEBUANO guard Macmac Tallo finally cooled off as the Racal Alibaba got beat by the defending Aspirants Cup champions Cignal Hawkeyes, 75-93, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
“One of those days,” was all Tallo could share as he was held to a mere three points after averaging 23 in his first two games. “Malas. Hindi lang ako pero pati kakampi ko,” said the former Southwestern University standout.
Cignal took advantage of Racal’s struggles as they drilled in three straight three-pointers down the stretch to break the game wide open.
A trey by Oping Sumalinog and consecutive treys by Jason Perkins gave the Hawkeyes an 88-69 lead.
Davon Potts led Cignal’s balanced attack with 15 points on top of three rebounds and three assists. Perkins ended up with 14 points, while Cebuano wingman Sumalinog added 11. Pamboy Raymundo had 10 points and distributed 10 assists.
Rian Ayonayon had 26 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Racal, dropped to 2-1.
