THE SAN Miguel Beermen made it two wins in a row to take the upper-hand in the PBA 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals, dominating the TNT Ka Tropa, 109-97, last night at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen now lead the best-of-seven series, 2-1, threatening to seize control of the series after a sorry 102-104 loss in Game 1.

Duplicating their masterful 102-88 Game 2 win, San Miguel took the fight out of the TNT with a blistering run in the third quarter where it erected leads of as many as 10 points after trailing at the half, 46-47.

Ending the third with a 79-72 cushion, the Beermen didn’t let up in the fourth and even took 101-88 lead in the final 3:24.

Alex Cabagnot topped the Beermen with 28 points while adding nine rebounds and six assists. San Miguel import Charles Rhodes collected 25 points and 20 rebounds, outplaying his counterpart Josh Smith, who managed just 18 markers and 14 boards.
