Cebu-based Rider Omega Pro Tri Team bags five titles in Musa Man Tri-DavNor race

The Rider Omega Pro Tri Team put up a sterling showing in the Musa Man Tri-DavNor race held in Tagum City, Davao del Norte yesterday.

The multi-titled Cebu-based triathlon team harvested five titles in the triathlon event held in line with the celebration of the 50th founding anniversary of the province of Davao del Norte. It is the first triathlon race held in the province.

Rider Omega ruled the male elite, male 20-24 years old, the female 20-24 years old, male 30-34 years old and the team challenge categories.
The race featured a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40k bike and 10k run.

Boholano triathlete Paul Jumamil won top honors in the male elite division by clocking in two hours and two minutes, beating John Leerams Chicano, who was a minute behind him at 2:03.00. Jonard Saim placed third (2:05.00).

Joining Jumamil on the winning side was Banjo Norte, who topped the 20-24 years old male division. Team manager Tonyson Lee was not able to provide the official times of the rest of the team.

Other winners for the team were Kristiane Lim, who took the title in the male 30-34 years old division, and Cianyl Gonzales, who topped the female 20-24 years old category. The Rider Omega Pro Tri Team outperformed Sante Barley and Tri Sos to capture the team challenge title.

The team also had six other podium finishes.

Joland Olmilla placed second in the 20-24 male category, Edwin Yu and Feelin Torres both placed second in the male 35-39 and female 30-34 categories, respectively, Jun Marq Ocaña grabbed second place honors in the female 40-44 category, and Brian Borling and Wilmar Saavedra finished second and third, respectively, in the 30-34 male category.
