Wangs handcuffs Tallo, beats Racal Motors in D-League

WANGS Basketball pulled the rug from under Racal Motors, 93-84, in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The loss, Racal Motors’ second in a row, dropped them to an even 2-2, after opening the season with two straight wins. Cebuano guard Macmac Tallo, who averaged 23 points in Racal’s victories, scored just eight this time around.

The Couriers was led by Chris Bitoon who sparked a second half uprising with 13 of his 22 points coming in that stretch. He added five steals, four rebounds, and three assists, while Robbie Herndon notched a double-double with 17 markers and 13 boards.

Michole Sorela also had some clutch shots as he scored 10 of his 13 in the fourth to help Wang’s get off to their best start in D-League history with a 3-2 record.

Marlon Gomez led Racal Motors with 15 points and six rebounds, as the squad fell to its second straight defeat. Roider Cabrera shot 3-of-8 from beyond the arc to collect 14 markers, while Gwynne Capacio had 12 points and four boards in the loss.
