Cebu City dad wants police outpost in Barangay Agsungot transferred

THE police detachment in Barangay Agsungot, Cebu City, will be transferred to a more strategic location.

Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, deputy mayor on police matters, said the police detachment in Agsungot is only seven kilometers away or very near from Talamban Police Station.

To properly secure the safety in other mountain barangays, the police detachment in Agsungot should be transferred to either Barangay Paril or Guba.
“What is important is Paril and Guba. Why? Because there are roads leading towards Danao, Compostela and Balamban,” he said.

Tumulak said the city wants to prevent illegal entry of improvised firearms locally known as “paltik” and the smuggling of contraband.

He added that Barangay Cambinocot will also be one of their options where the police officers will be assigned.

Tumulak said he already informed the Philippine National Police (PNP) about the matter.

“This is one way to properly secure our city. Here in the city proper, the entrance and exit points are already secured. We also have to tighten security in the mountain barangay,” he said.

He added that the police should also be on the lookout should the New People’s Army rebels try to enter the city’s mountain barangays.
