Phoenix Premium golf winners

ERIC Deen and Joseph Yukayguan emerged the biggest winners in the 200-player field after they clinched the top individual honors in the 18-hole inaugural Cebu leg of the Phoenix Premium 98 Open Golf Tournament last Friday at the Cebu Country Club.

Deen scored two-under-par 38 points to become the overall gross champion of the event, which used the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
Yukayguan, a lawyer, fired 10-under-par 46 points to bag the overall net crown.

The gross champion for class A (0-9 handicap) was Mary Kim Hong with a score of even-par 36 points.

The net champion for the premier handicap category was Baltaire Balangauan with 40 points, while the class B (10-16) gross title went to Mario King with seven-over-par 29 points.

Dominic Gotiong took the class B net title with 42 points, while Joy Anthony Ong scored 25 points to bag the gross title for class C (17-21).

Avelino de Manuel carded 42 points to take the class C net crown, while Jose ‘Bebot’ Baldemor won the class D (22-27) gross title after shooting 22 points. The class D net title went to Chito Misa with 45 points.

In the two-man team event, Charles Vincent Ong (42) and partner Archie Villa (43) netted 85 points to win the crown.

Special awards went to Ian Crystal for a booming 290-yard drive on hole No. 8 and being nearest to the pin on hole No. 3 and Dr. Arnold Tan, a heart surgeon, for nailing the most accurate drive on hole No. 16.
