Police man checkpoints in Cebu City as part of security measures for the meetings of delegates of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) and during the Pacquiao-Horn boxing match.

AS always during a Manny Pacquiao fight, no crimes were reported in all the 11 police stations in Cebu City from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Yesterday’s fight between Pacquiao and Jeff Horn had live showings in many barangay halls, sports arenas, restaurants and even houses who opened their windows to allow their neighbors to watch the boxing match dubbed Battle of Brisbane.
“Based on our monitoring, during the time the fight was going on, there were no reported incidents in the city,” said CCPO operations chief Supt. David Señor said.
He said it is usual that no crime are committed during a Pacquiao fight but nonetheless, the police were still vigilant especially that there is an on-going big event in the city, which is the meeting of the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
Señor attributed the “zero crime” to their continuous patrol around the city.
“Tanan police stations naa na silay designated areas kung asa sila mag-roving during sa fight,” Señor said.
(All police stations in the city had a designated areas to check during the fight.)
Señor added that even the restaurants and malls which conducted pay per view of the fight had a security detailed.
“Gifucosan g’yud sa roving sa mga police stations kaning mga eat-all-you-can (restaurants) sa uptown near Gorordo. Daghan man na manan-aw,” Señor said.

Many people were disappointed by the outcome of the fight with Pacquiao losing to his Australian opponent but were not at all surprised by his loss.
Paul Manlangit, 24, said he was really expected Pacquiao to lose because he is so much older than Horn.
“It’s time for him to retire. It shows that he had a hard time coping with Horn’s aggressiveness,” Manlangit said.
Señor, however, said it was a “very good fight” and he hopes that a rematch will happen.
“Mao toy patas nga duwa. Tan-aw nako dili man agrabiyado si Pacquiao,” Señor added.
