ISUZU Philippines Corp. (IPC) held its first regional Fleet Safety Driving Training Series in Cebu City last June 29 and 30 at the Citi de Mare grounds at the South Road Properties (SRP).
Local Isuzu heavy-duty truck operators were beneficiaries of the two-day free seminar. The event was part of the comprehensive after-sales support program of IPC.
IPC brought in two expert truck engineers and technicians from Japan to teach a total of 20 drivers and maintenance crew from 10 invited companies from Cebu City who were clients of Isuzu.
The main objective of the seminar was to provide participants with the required theory and practical training which would enable them to safely and efficiently operate Isuzu heavy-duty trucks (C&E Series).
The seminar was attended by IPC president Hajime Koso and other officials of Isuzu Cebu Inc.
Two of the participants, Regie Taghap and Charlie Cuyag of Gothong Shipping Lines, said they were glad they were given the chance to be part of the seminar.
“We learned a lot like how to properly inspect the truck, how to do proper maintenance and proper driving so that our units will last longer. We also learned some techniques for fuel efficiency,” said Taghap.
