A YEAR after their morale-boosting finals victory, the Cebu Lady Dragons are confident that they can build something out of that inspiring win as they eye for their second consecutive title in the 4th Annual Cebu Ladies 10s International Rugby Festival, which opens today at Cebu International School in Talamban, Cebu.
The Lady Dragons, who failed to defend their home turf in the first two servings of the annual tournament, allowing the Bangkok Banger Belles and Gai Wu Rugby Club from Hong kong to take the first and second editions, finally ended a long dry spell as they were able to hoist the championship trophy last year after beating Manila Mayhem, 10-0, in the finals.
Lady Dragons head coach Maggie Royo is confident that the team can put up a decent performance with only Shanghai presenting a tough challenge for the Cebuanas in the tournament.
“Yes, we can win because local teams are made up mostly of rookie players,” Royo shared.
Other teams who will be vying for the title include the Manila All-Stars, Dadiangas Lady Generals and Davao Lady Durians.
