MANDAUE City Mayor Gabriel Luis Quisumbing ordered an investigation into an incident that resulted in the injury of customer in a bar along A.S. Fortuna Street at 2 a.m. last Sunday.
The female customer sustained three stitches in the head after customers of Sentral Bar and Lounge’s VIP section threw glasses down the ground floor where she and her friends were seated.
A Facebook post by the victim’s friend named Jay Añora recounted that the customers sat in the lounge’s VIP section when the incident occurred. Añora said the management didn’t do anything about it.
The management said they reprimanded the VIP customers and denied that they escorted them out of the place.
Quisumbing said he received a call from a friend regarding the incident.
The mayor said the victim refused to file complaints despite being offered aid by the City Legal Office.
Quisumbing said he ordered the City Legal Office and the Mandaue City police on the incident.
Quisumbing said the police told him that the parties involved left by the time they came to the place.
The mayor said he ordered the City Legal Office to see if the bar complied with all legal requirements.
“I will not allow this to pass without sanctions. I really wish that if there are victims of this incident or other incidents like this that they would file a blotter report or complaint,” Quisumbing said.
