Repairs for quake-hit school buildings start this month

Repairs for the school buildings that were damaged by tremors caused by the July 6 earthquake that hit Jaro town in Leyte province are scheduled this month.

Engineer Wendell Tabar, the division engineer of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Cebu City Schools Division, said the schools damaged by the quake were Don Sergio Osmeña Sr. National High School, Labangon and Lahug Elementary School.

“We have a P30 million budget we will use for the repairs and upkeep of the schools. Repairs for Don Sergio Osmeña National High School starts this month and Labangon and Lahug schools start in August,” he said.
