Daanbantayan heist: Two water refilling employees lose P2K to armed robbers

Four men, two of them armed with a handgun, robbed on Sunday two employees of a water-refilling station in Sitio Talisay South, Barangay Malingin, Daanbantayan town in northern Cebu and fled with the P2,000 cash, the employees sales for the day.

Rexanie Hoyoa, 32, Saint Vincent Purified Drinking Water’s collector and cashier, and Wilfredo Mofloso, 36, driver of the water refilling station, reported the incident to the Daanbantayan Police Station after they claimed to have been robbed by the four men in Sitio Talisay South, Barangay Malingin.

According to PO2 Joel Pino and PO2 Brian Densing, that they rushed to the area when they received the report, but the robbers were no longer in the area.

According to investigation, Hoyoa and Moflosco claimed that while they were loading empty water containers on their truck, an armed man wearing a bonnet suddenly came out of the bushes and announced a holdup.

The victims claimed another man, this time his face covered with a T-shirt, also appeared from the bushes and ask to hand over their money.

Two other men also came out from the bushes and acted as lookouts, while the robbery was ongoing.

The victims said they handed the P2,000 sales for the day to the robbers, who allowed them to leave the area after the robbery.

Daanbantayan police, however, were still investigating the incident.
