SONA RALLIES
Hours before President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (Sona), militant groups took to the streets in Metro Cebu for their usual round of protest rallies.
Netizens like Angeli Ann Dinsay posted their comments in Cebu Daily News’s Facebook page. Dinsay is sympathetic to the jeepney drivers but said they should recognize the public’s need for modernized public transportation.
“It may sound harsh, but part of starting to live in a new era, we should also start innovating. We are so far behind other countries now in terms of modernization,” Dinsay said.
Oyeme Zhen shared her perspective on the peace talks between the government and militants. “Peace talks? You are traitors. You are just adding to the heavy flow of traffic. Clean your garbage.”
Djmjrona Quilaton suggested, “What we should do is to help this country to improve. Stop staging rallies.”
