Honda Cars Philippines is expected to unveil the all-new CR-V compact crossover on August 8 in Manila.

The news was relayed to Cebu Daily News by Honda Cars Cebu Inc (HCCI).

The arrival of the fifth-generation CR-V marks the first time that Honda will be offering a diesel engine in the Philippines.

The diesel variant of the CR-V will come with a 1.6-liter DTEC turbo diesel engine paired with a shift-by-wire nine-speed automatic transmission.

The CR-V will also come with a petrol version powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine connected to a continuous variable transmission.

Both engines are developed as part of Honda’s Earth Dreams technology.

HCCI said the newest version of Honda’s popular crossover that debuted in 1995 will arrive in Cebu mid-August for the petrol variant and late September for the much anticipated diesel version.

Since it is an all-new version, the CR-V will boast a total makeover.

Its exterior design offers a more luxurious feel highlighted by LED headlights and tail lights, and LED daytime running lights.

According to a press release from Honda Asia, the all-new Honda CR-V’s interior “is an evolutionary design that gives a serene, suitably spacious, and surprisingly comfortable feel with every drive.”

The new interior design includes third-row passenger seats, with a total of seven adjustable seats that offer various configuration options.
