SHAMELESS CORRUPTION
Netizens voiced outrage over Sen. Panfilo Lacson’s disclosure that Customs personnel earn P270 million a day from payola or bribes.
Danilo Macion said, “Excluding provincial seaports and airports plus what they earn from illegal items (they) probably earn bigger than P27,000 to P30,000 per container van.”
John Fereira wrote, “All payments to government must be made thru banks and not to any collector assigned, more than half of government income just goes to these selfish, greedy, dishonest, corrupt minded government employees.”
For his part, Ronald Caramba Tolentino has only one thing to say about the corruption at Customs: “Shameless!”
