The Philippine News Agency has been the subject of backlash lately after it mistakenly used the logo of a food company for a story about the Department of Labor and Employment.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said he will hold the editors of PNA responsible for the mistake.
But netizens are just as irked at the PNA for its article’s error.
Beau Florenosos, in a comment posted on Facebook, said: “If that’s the best and the brightest this administration can get, then we are really doomed.”
Francisco Benemerito shared what he thought would be the outcome of the error. “I think some staff of PNA will receive a ‘reward’ for this.”
Nersas Patalclorin also commented “Somebody is not fit for his/her position.”
Another netizen, Ilijah Hermogenes, aired a suggestion. “Writers and editors should always check their articles and photos before they upload or publish them to avoid mistakes and confusions.”
