ONE hundred reflectorized safety traffic vests were turned over by AboitizLand Inc. to the City Traffic Management System (CTMS) of Lapu-Lapu City on Wednesday morning.

Anthony Noel, assistant vice president for External Affairs of AboitizLand Inc., said they found the vests very useful for the safety of CTMS personnel in manning the traffic.

“Traffic enforcers risk their lives in giving order in the streets, and we must take care of them,” said Noel during the turnover ceremony at the conference room of the mayor’s office.

He said they also donated similar vests to other local government units in Metro Cebu where traffic is heavy.

CTMS head Mario Napole expressed his gratitude to AboitizLand on behalf of the traffic enforcers and the Lapu-Lapu City government. “Daku kaayo ni og tabang sa atong mga traffic enforcers para sa ilang safety ug para malikay sa suborno kay klaro kaayo sila kon modawat og suborno (It’s a big help to our traffic enforcers for their safety and for them to avoid accepting bribes as they can be easily identified).”

Lapu-Lapu City Administrator Florito Puzon received the safety vests and turned it over to Napole.

Napole said that starting yesterday, he will require all the traffic enforcers to always wear the safety vests while on duty.
