IN THE HOPES of providing better and quality officiating, the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) volleyball tournament will be increasing the number of referees for the upcoming season.

Tournament director Jordan Paca said they have signed up over 20 game officials from all over Cebu who are not affiliated with any volleyball groups to assure fair officiating of games.

“So far there are no problems with referees regarding the Cesafi because of the help of the governing body, which is Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc (LVPI),” Paca said.

This season’s game officials will not only come from the Department of Education (DepEd) but also from the province of Cebu.

“We hired many referees because its much better to have many officials so that everyone will be well-rested once they officiate,” Paca said.

Paca added that after the season, these game officials will be assessed to know what they should improve on.
