TNT routs Blackwater in PBA

TNT KaTropa versus Blackwater on Wednesday night in the PBA Governors’ Cup eliminations followed what has always been the trend for both franchises.

The Texters, the side supposedly struggling of late, and the Elite, the ones who were smoking hot coming into the game, took their familiar places in their head-to-head with TNT prevailing like it has always done in the last three years – with utmost authority.

“I think they just caught us on a good day,” TNT coach Nash Racela said after a 117-96 ripping that stopped Blackwater’s franchise-best winning streak at three at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay while at the same time announcing the Texters’ return to peak form and a threat to everyone in the field.

“Our objective going into every game is to look for improvements,” Racela said when asked how his team turned around in such a big way considering that they were 1-1 going into the game with new import Glen Rice Jr. and 3-2 overall.

“We’re satisfied at what we saw today and I just expect my players to give their best and be smart every game.”

Blackwater is now 0-9 against TNT all-time, and the Texters made the Elite look so bad despite trying so hard as they built leads of a big as 27 points and played the second half in virtual cruise control.
