Harley, Landmasters stay on top

The Cebu Landmasters and Harley Davidson kept their lofty spots at the top of the standings in Division A after they nabbed contrasting wins in the 22nd Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Basketball Tournament Powered by Common Ground on Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena.

The Cebu Landmasters eked past the SHS-Ateneo de Cebu Team B, 86-82, while Harley Davidson routed Gaisano Capital, 77-62.
Both the Cebu Landmasters and Harley Davidson boast of identical 5-1 (win-loss) records in the triple round-robin elimination round, where the top two teams, afterwards, will advance to the championship round.

Daryle Tan helped turn away the feisty Ateneo de Cebu Team B with his 25 points, seven rebounds and two steals. He also got help from wide-bodied big man Leigh Dixon who tallied 10 markers and eight boards to send the youngsters of Ateneo de Cebu tumbling to their sixth straight loss.

Harley Davidson, on the other hand, established themselves early on, surging in front, 62-43, after the first three periods to take care of business and snatch the win.

Former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon Pio Longa scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Jair Igna had 10 points and four assists while Fletcher Galvez added 10 points and 13 boards in the lopsided contest that dropped Gaisano Capital to their fourth loss in six games.
