BINIBINING CEBU 2017: Miss Bogo City and Miss Asturias

LEADING up to the pageant night on Oct. 28, we’re featuring the ladies who are vying for the first-ever Binibining
Cebu crown. Here’s more of Nicole Pilapil of Bogo City and Samantha Ashley Lo of Asturias:

Nicole Pilapil

Age: 21

Town/City: Bogo City

Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, dancing, and doing makeup

School: Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant management at the University of San Carlos

To be part of a milestone in the history of Binibining Cebu—this is why Nicole joined the pageant’s debut.

She is the official candidate for Bogo City, situated in northern Cebu, 97.8 kilometers away from Cebu City.

Bogo City is known for the Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, as well as an islet called Capitancillo.

Nicole thinks social media is a good platform for promoting her city. “Bogo City is blessed with a beautiful topography.

Another thing that I love about Bogo is its hospitable people,” she added.

Samantha Ashley Lo

Age: 24

Town/City: Asturias

Hobbies/Interests: Diving, reading, going to art and music festivals

Job: English teacher at ECC Academy

Samantha Ashley joined Binibining Cebu because she believes mthe experience will delevop her personality. Lo is the official candidate of Asturias known for Lalin Festival that celebrates festival queens from different barangays of Asturias.

Asturias is also known for its “bibingka” and coffee bean fields.

“Asturias has preserved its rustic charm. It has hot springs, mountains and beaches—attractions tourists would appreciate, especially those from abroad who want a break from the noise of the city.

Like they say, simplicity is good for the soul,” Lo added.
