Gaisano Capital kept its slim hopes for a spot in the finals alive as it shocked the reigning champions Cebu Landmasters, 85-77, in Division A of the 22nd Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Basketball Tournament Powered by Common Ground last Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena.
Gaisano Capital’s victory propelled them to 3-4 (win-loss) and dragged down the Cebu Landmasters to 5-2 in this triple round-robin elimination round that would see the top two finishers advancing outright to the best-of-three finals.

Ed Macasling led Gaisano Capital with 14 points while Patrick Go and Alphonsus Doyon each had 13. Big man Mavii Suarez anchored the shaded lane with 12 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Moncrief Rogado paced the Cebu Landmasters with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
In the other Division A game, Fletcher Galvez spearheaded Harley Davidson’s attack with 17 points, 12 rebounds and two steals.
