Cebu city operations
Three police operations in two days in Cebu City yielded P2.4 million worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of three men and three women.
First to fall was Ozner Nabua, 28, of Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, after police arrested him during a buy-bust operation in Imus New Road, Barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, said Insp. Cristopher Navida, chief of the City Intelligence Branch and Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office, in an interview yesterday.
Navida said Nabua had connections with drug suspect Ernesto Laurenciana also known as Saddam, who is facing drug charges and detained at the Cebu City Jail.
Two packs and five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 100.2 grams were confiscated from Nabua.
Navida said that the drugs had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P1.1 million.
Next to fall was Carlota Alonzo, 36, of Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, Cebu.
Alonzo was caught with 100.2 grams of suspected shabu in one pack and five sachets during a buy-bust operation in P. Lopez St., Barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Navida said the confiscated drugs were estimated to have a DDB value of P1.1 million.
Navida said that Alonzo was allegedly called the “Madam of Talisay” by drug detainees and had alleged links to the late drug suspect Rowen Secretaria, also known as Yawa, who was killed in a police operation.
The last to fall were Janet Paslon, 52; Irene Punis, 40; Jeffrey Mabalatan, 26; and Arnel Jumawan, 34; who are all from Barangay Tejero.
Confiscated from the suspects were a pack and three sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated DDB value of P200,000.
The suspects were detained at the Cebu City Police Office detention cell pending the filing of charges.
