Capitol sets 4th ‘Caravan of Services’ in Oslob

The Cebu provincial government will bring its health, agriculture, social welfare, and environmental protection services to Oslob town, southern Cebu this September 16-18 in its 4th Caravan of Services.

Capitol started the activity last year in Badian, followed by another caravan in Bantayan Island. The third caravan was held in Camotes Island last March where P2.8 million worth of financial assistance was handed over.

“The last caravan was held in the north. This time, to bring the services in the southeast part of the province, we saw Oslob as the most strategic location,” Atty. Ramil Abing, Executive Assistant V of the Provincial Administrator’s Office said in an interview.

Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale will lead the caravan together with the members of the Provincial Board (PB), department heads, and other officials. PB will also hold an out-of-town session during the caravan.

The agriculture office will distribute seedlings, fishing gear, and other agricultural equipment during the caravan while the social welfare and health offices will give out wheelchairs and health kits.

Free rabies vaccines will also be given out to Oslobanons and residents of neighboring towns.

Aside from this, the residents will also receive a free vaccination, deworming, vitamins, and antibiotics for their cows and carabaos.

Meanwhile, a land title distribution will be conducted through the land titling project of the Provincial Cadastral Council in partnership with 22 local government units in Cebu.

In line with the celebration of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, about 350 participants will gather together in a coastal cleanup in the shores of Daanlungsod, Oslob on the first day of the caravan.

Over 2,750 senior citizens will also receive Halad Kang Lolo ug Lola packs which contain rice and canned goods.
A medical and dental mission will be conducted as well, benefiting over 1,000 individuals.
