MEDIA’S ROLE IN SOCIETY
As Cebu media outlets celebrate Press Freedom Week, netizens were asked on what they think is media’s role in today’s society.
Randy Fabria said, “Media nowadays has a big impact on our society. It’s like they’re the loud speakers of the people. The rights of information, expression and opinion. They make us feel that we are still living in a free world.”
Tata Garido said, “Others are discounting the essence of media today. They don’t realize that media has become a potent force in reshaping their lives in a more positive way.”
Jum Kenneth Alcover said, “Media plays a constructive role in today’s society from increasing public awareness to collecting views, information and also the attitude of the people towards a certain issue.”
Ross Dc said, “Media, if objective and unbiased, is supposed to be the purveyor of information and facts to the public of current events in our society.”
Mary Jossetthe said, “Media has a huge help in the society for a reason that it helps the people to become more informed on the current issues of our country.”
