FAMILY Appliance forced a tie for first place in the standings with a 55-49 win over the BCP Lubricants in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball League last Tuesday at the CEC gym.
Anthony Chua charted 14 points and Juan Carlo Espada added 11 to help Family Appliance notch its sixth win in seven games, tying idle Roadstar for the lead in the 10-team tournament.
BCP Lubricants fell to 5-2 (win-loss) and into a tie for second place with Dimsum Frito.
In the other game of the night, Promate/MG Machinery barged into the win column with a 70-61 victory over Mang Ondo.
Muscleman Paul Gabatan led the way for Promate/MG Machinery with 18 points, Eric Cabana tallied 17 while Peter dela Torre had 14 as they tied Mang Ondo at the bottom with similar 1-6 records.
Rex Millan had 25 for Mang Ondo, but it wasn’t enough to carry his team to the win.
