HARLEY Davidson and the defending champions Cebu Landmasters will be facing off for all the marbles in Division A after emerging as the top two teams at Sunday’s end of the triple round-robin elimination of the 22nd SHAABAA Basketball Tournament Powered by Common Ground at the Magis Eagles Arena.
The Cebu Landmasters bucked a slow start but dominated the last three periods to come away with an, 87-73 win over winless Ateneo de Cebu Team B. They trailed, 15-24 after the first canto, but outscored their opponents, 72-49, the rest of the way to finish the elimination round with a second-best 6-3 win-loss record.
Athletic forward Daryle Tan led the Cebu Landmasters with 28 points on 13-of-15 shooting from the field.
Meanwhile, Gaisano Capital clobbered Harley Davidson, 119-91 but the loss was inconsequential as the latter already booked a finals slot even before the match by way of their superior 7-2 mark.
Seven players scored in double-figures for Gaisano Capital led by Mavii Suarez’s 18 points and Robert Gilo’s 17 and 10 rebounds as Gaisano Capital finished the tournament with a 5-4 card.
