SNAKE

SNAKE

Netizens have been expressing deep concern about the fate of a eleven-year-old boy who went missing, and was later found dead, after he and several others were swept away by a strong water current after a foot bridge along a creek in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City collapsed at around 10 a.m. on Friday.

One twitter user, @ongc2570jhunej, was particularly concerned that people died because they got very curious about a python that was seen sleethering through the murky and garbage-laden creek.

He wrote: “If they were not too curious enough about the snake, we would not have lost lives. This only goes to show that curiosity sometimes is not good.”

Another netizen named Rowel Silvana, on the other hand, wrote on CDN’s Facebook page: “If wala pata namutol ug kahoy, dili unta ingana ka grabi ang baha, dili unta sila ma anod sa ka kusog sa baha.”

(If only we stopped cutting down trees, we would not have to experience floods this bad; they would not have been swept away by rampaging floodwater.)

CDN Facebook page follower Christian Bargayo expressed his sorrow over the victims’ fate. “Next time we should not be too curious about a snake… my deepest condolences to the victims.”
