MIXED OVER FARE HIKE
Netizens were mixed over the proposed P8 fare rate pushed by Cebu’s transport groups.
Irene Perez said, “The 6.50 fare wasn’t even implemented at all. If you pay P7 to the driver, you wont receive a 50 centavo change. There are also those drivers who over charge you.”
Jun Jun Casinong wrote on Facebook, “We should also ask for the prices of diesel our PUJ drivers are using so we’ll know why they want an increase in the minimum fare rate.”
Peggy Rondina Canlas said, “I think this is okay. Let us also consider the drivers because the traffic in Cebu is worsening. They spend hours for just a single trip.”
Benjie Dajao said, “The jeepney drivers and the commuters should meet halfway. We have to consider both sides because we will all be affected. Let’s follow whatever is beneficial to everyone.”
