Village exec, teen yield P500K shabu

Half a million pesos’ worth of shabu was seized from a barangay councilman and a father and daughter residing in Carcar City, southern Cebu yesterday morning by operatives of the regional Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-7).

Arvin dela Fuentes, councilman of Barangay Canasujan in Carcar City, yielded 10 packs of shabu worth P250,000 to PDEA operatives at his home at past 1 a.m.

PDEA-7 information officer Leia Albiar said since Dela Fuentes is a public official caught dealing in drugs, he is considered a high-value target (HVT).
“All government officials or employees, we consider them as HVT,” Albiar said.

Albiar said they have been monitoring Dela Fuentes for two weeks after being tipped off by the official’s colleagues about his activities.

Dela Fuentes denied this, saying he only owned a small backyard business in Canasujan.

“Ilaha ra kong gisiraan. Wala ko nisulod ana (They just want to ruin me. I am not into illegal drug trade),” Dela Fuentes said.

In Barangay Perrelos, a 17-year-old girl was arrested with her father for allegedly dealing in shabu.

The two also yielded 10 packs of shabu weighing 50 grams worth P250,000.

Albiar said the 17-year-old supposedly had a common-law partner dealing in drugs at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.

“Didto na niya nakuha ang supply sa iyahang drugs (She gets her supply of drugs from him),” Albiar said.

Charges are being readied against the three who are detained at the Carcar City Police Precinct.
