HARLEY Davidson roared past the reigning champions Cebu Landmasters, 88-75, Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the Division A finals series of the 22nd SHAABAA Basketball Tournament Powered by Common Ground at the Magis Eagles Arena.

Harley Davidson rode a sizzling 33-16 run in the third period to break the game wide open and draw first blood against the veteran-laden Cebu Landmasters.

Tied at 34-all after the first 20 minutes of action, Harley Davidson stepped on the gas pedal and scored one bucket after another to propel in front, 67-50, heading to the final canto.

Harley Davidson then held steady in the final 10 minutes to register the series-opening win that brings them to within a win away from hoisting the crown.

Typifying Harley Davidson’s balanced offensive was the fact that five players scored in double figures led by Fletcher Galvez’s 21 points, speedy guard Gio Laguyo’s 16 markers and four assists, UP Fighting Maroon’s Piero Longa with 13, and all-around point man Travis Mantua’s 12 points, nine assists and five steals. Antonio Datan also pitched in 11.

Former PBA D-League standout Moncrief Rogado led the Cebu Landmasters with 16 points but shot just 6-of-18 from the field. Daryle Tan on the other hand, pumped in a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
